Please read carefully our car hire terms and conditions.

1. Introduction

These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the rental of vehicles from Timos Rentals. By signing or electronically accepting the rental agreement, the customer ("Renter") acknowledges that they have read, understood, and fully accepted these Terms.

2. Driver Age and Driving Licence

• The renter and any additional driver must be at least 18 years old.
• The maximum driver age is 75 years.
• The driver must hold a valid driving licence for at least 1 year.
• Accepted driving licence types: EU, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Israel, Switzerland, and other non-EU licences issued in Latin characters.
• For driving licences issued in non-Latin characters, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required.
• A valid passport or identity card must be presented upon vehicle collection.

3. Reservations and Vehicle Categories

• Reservations are made by vehicle category. A specific vehicle model is not guaranteed.
• If the selected vehicle is unavailable, a similar vehicle from the same category will be provided.
• If no vehicle is available in the reserved category, a complimentary upgrade may be offered.

4. Rental Duration, Extension and Late Return

• The minimum rental period is 24 hours.
• Rental extensions are possible upon prior communication with the company.
• In the event of a late return, an hourly charge of €5 per hour will apply.
• No refund will be provided for early vehicle returns.

5. Insurance and Security Deposit

The excess and security deposit amounts vary depending on the vehicle category. The exact amount will be displayed during the booking process in the insurance section.

• Basic Insurance (CDW/TP) is included in the rental price.
• Standard Insurance is available.

6. Fuel Policy

• Same to Same: the vehicle is delivered with a specified fuel level and must be returned with the same fuel level.
• If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the missing fuel will be charged based on the current local retail fuel price on the return date.
• No refund will be provided for excess fuel remaining in the vehicle.

7. Mileage Policy

Unlimited mileage is included with the rental.

8. Additional Drivers and Extras

• Additional drivers are permitted. All additional drivers must meet the same rental requirements and be registered in the rental agreement.
• The first additional driver is provided free of charge.

9. Insurance Exclusions

Insurance coverage does not apply in the following cases:

• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Use by an unauthorized driver.
• Off-road driving.
• Misfuelling.
• Loss of vehicle keys.
• Locking the keys inside the vehicle.
• Interior damage.
• Roof or undercarriage damage.
• Failure to report an accident.

10. Accidents, Damages and Traffic Fines

• In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify the company.
• The renter is required to complete and retain the European Accident Statement (Friendly Accident Report) at the scene of the accident.
• Taking photographs at the accident scene is recommended and/or may be required.
• The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking violations and toll charges incurred during the rental period.

11. Vehicle Usage Restrictions

• The rental vehicle may only be used for lawful purposes on suitable public roads.
• Only authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle.
• Pets are not allowed inside the vehicle.

12. Delivery, Collection and Out-of-Hours Service

• Available delivery and collection locations are displayed during the booking process.
• Additional charges may apply for delivery or collection in remote areas outside our main operating location.

13. Ferry Transport / Travel Restrictions

• Transporting the vehicle by ferry is permitted only with prior written authorization from the company.
• Travel outside the island or operating area is permitted only with prior written authorization.
• Unauthorized travel or transportation automatically voids all insurance coverage.

14. Cancellation, No-Show and Early Return

No refund will be provided in the event of a no-show.

15. Vehicle Return, Cleanliness and Inspection

• The vehicle inspection upon return is carried out in the presence of a company representative.
• The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.

16. Data Protection and Privacy

• The company collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU 2016/679).
• Personal data is used solely for the purposes of the rental.
• Personal data is shared with third parties only when required by law, or with service providers necessary for the operation of the rental service.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece.
